This project aims to unite two usually separate fields: digital production and local craftsmanship, bringing innumerable advantages to an industry whose production and tailoring system has remained intact for many years.

/4D textiles/

The possibilities of textiles 4.0 allow to achieve a translation of the complex geometries of haute couture, therefore lowering production costs as a result of digitizing part of the process of making the garment.

This makes it possible to expand the target audience for haute couture who, despite their interest in fashion, only have economic access to fast fashion, an industry that ranks as the second most polluting in the world due to its high environmental impact.

/sustainability
/cost savings
/local handcraft
/decentralization

The decentralization made possible by digital production makes it possible to support local production, developing the entire life cycle of the garments within the same locality; from the raw material, extracted from PET packaging waste to create recycled polyester fabrics, its manufacture and use, to its end of life.

Therefore, from Couture 4.0 onwards, two usually separated areas such as digital production and local craftsmanship are merged.

/Design values

Before starting the experimentation, the values to be reflected in the garments are established:
                 I. Highlight the curves of the body
                 II. Provide spectacle
III. To reflect the Andalusian identity.

/Process of experimentation

The garments and geometries of haute couture are studied in order to translate them later to 3D printing on fabrics. To this end, the experimentation is carried out in two phases:

Phase 1: study of the behavior of printed material – fabric.

Phase 2: study of geometric shapes that can be generated as a                     translation of haute couture.

The adhesion of the printed material to the fabric has been tested with mechanical traction tests and microscopic observation. the adhesion of the printed material to the fabric

/Shooting

For the shooting, an analysis of the styling, the locations as well as the editing of the photographs was carried out together with the photographer to express the desired values of empowerment.
